Preventive Health and Safety Training

Preventive Health and Safety Practices (PHSP) is an 8-hour course required for California childcare providers as part of the 16-hour initial training that also includes Pediatric First Aid and CPR.

The PHSP course covers important topics such as infection control, injury prevention, nutrition, and lead poisoning prevention. It is offered by various organizations, both in-person and online, and must be approved by the ย California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA).
