On June 17, CDR held its Staff Development Day, a coming together of all 400-plus employees to kick off the summer season and enjoy a fun-filled time at the park. The Country Fair theme featured carnival style games, music, dance, a photo area complete with hay bales, and a homestyle BBQ lunch. Staff Development Day is one of the highlights of the year because it provides an opportunity to for entire CDR workforce to gather together in-person and celebrate the accomplishments of the team. Gloria de la Rocha is a CDR Head Start teacher that has played a major role in the organization's history for 50 years. Her five decades of dedication was honored at the recent Staff Development Day Service Awards. "It was very meaningful to me," said Gloria. "I feel in my heart that this recognition was also meant for all CDR staff who work with children," she said. CDR is honored to be the recipient of the JD Probasco (Division B) Team Unity Award at this year’s Corporate Games. That makes it two years in a row and deserving for a special Back-2-Back Champs display. The trophy inscription reads: "Given to the company that displayed the most unity and spirit during the 2025 (and 2026) Corporate Games. On September 26, all 400-plus CDR employees were celebrated during its annual Child Development Resources (CDR) Staff Appreciation Lunch. The event was held on the grounds of the central offices in Oxnard. This time around, the day's agenda included a Health and Wellness Fair which provided team members the opportunity to connect directly with health plan representatives to better understand and leverage their current benefits and inquire about other available options. But the most popular booth at the fair was the outdoor massages, catered to provide a moment of mindfulness and relaxation.
