On September 26, all 400-plus CDR employees were celebrated during its annual Child Development Resources (CDR) Staff Appreciation Lunch. The event was held on the grounds of the central offices in Oxnard. This time around, the day’s agenda included a Health and Wellness Fair which provided team members the opportunity to connect directly with health plan representatives to better understand and leverage their current benefits and inquire about other available options. But the most popular booth at the fair was the outdoor massages, catered to provide a moment of mindfulness and relaxation.

Child Development Resources Does Public Launch of its YES Commitment Workplace Philosophy
The celebration was also the expansion and public launch of CDR’s YES Commitment, a workplace philosophy built upon being a community and place of YES to inspire children, parents and staff, with a mindset towards achieving individual and team aspirations and goals. The luncheon kicked off with a YES flag ceremony, followed by an indoor photo exhibit with several framed posters promoting a positive YES message and featuring images of CDR staff, teachers, and children. The posters will be displayed at the central office buildings and at each of the Head Start centers.
The YES Focus Group organized a fun contest asking staff to submit their best original YES Commitment motto in two sentences or less. The theme was mutual support and appreciation. The following five winners were chosen to receive a special prize: Danielle Ramirez, Marlene Arambula Mayra Rincon, Emily Banuelos, and Erica Ford. Congratulations!
